Help Wanted to ID a Heer Leutnant multiple Panzerknacer, RK, German Cross in Gold with a dodgy left eye
G'day All,
I've got a photo of a Heer Leutnant (at least he looks like a Leutnant, photo is a little over-exposed on his epaulettes) with the RK, German Cross in Gold, Gold/Silver wound badge (I'd say Gold, looking at his left eye - the staring one ...hmmm... to tell the truth can't work out which eye of his is dodgy!), multiple Panzerknacker abzeichen (can see 3 so would assume that this is all he had at this point, else the photographer would have included the others), EK1, EK2 etc.
Any ideas on who this chap might be? I've been trolling through the various websites which hold RK winners (at Leutnant level) and have been using the info on this page, but would love to know if somebody can positively ID him :-)
BTW: In case you can't access the URL through this post, the direct link to the photo is http://www.brisbanemilitarycollectab...2010%20060.jpg
Cheers

Wow! Many thanks, Paul :-) If only I could get his autograph too! I actually posted the same query to a specialist Panzerknacker article chain on 'WW2 Forums' and as usual, the 'War Relics' crew got in first
If anybody's interested, here's a further article on Hans-Georg Borck. He managed to knock out four tanks individually!

Re: Help Wanted to ID a Heer Leutnant multiple Panzerknacer, RK, German Cross in Gold with a dodgy left eye
I was informed late last year (by a chap called Daniel - who is writing a book on RK winners) that Hans-Georg died in May, 2011 :-(
I put what info I have about Hans on my website, Brisbane Military Collectables - A Needle in a Haystack - so check it out if you have chance. Hans was an amazing man and committed unbelievable acts of bravery under exceptionally difficult circumstances. Everybody who's contacted me about him has always had very nice things to say about the gent.
Due to a change in my circumstances, sadly, I'm putting the photo onto eBay for sale. Will update this post after it goes 'live' as it'd be nice if it goes to a 'War Relics' user!
Cheers

He has indeed, Paul :-) Thanks again for all your info earlier in the post; it was excellent to find out who he was so that I could dig up further information!

Here's the link to the eBay auction - eBay Australia: Buy new & used fashion, electronics & home d
I'll be interested to see how the auction finishes up esp with so much 'known' history and a positive ID. There aren't many Knights Cross wearing multiple Panzerknackers kicking around ;-)
