    This is definitely a first for my eyes, seeing this Kradmelder riding a British-Made Norton Motorcycle...
    The reverse reads "The last messenger" and "Where are you running off to, Kamerad?"

    A very good image.

    I have seen a few of these before usually from not long after Dunkirk as lots were abandoned then.

    I may be wrong, but I always thought that the British Army only used 2 models of Norton motorcycles, the 16H and the 'Big 4' (Model 1)? The one in the above photo appears to be a Model 20 which was a pre war civilian machine. The polished chrome tank is also incorrect for a WD machine, so I would imagine this particular one was "borrowed" from a local on the other side of "Der Kanal".
