ROYAL RIFLEMAN
Oslo, Norway: Hereditary prince Harald of Norway draws a bead on a target at Trandum military camp, near Oslo. The 19 year old prince is serving as a dragoon in the Norwegian cavalry. After 16 months, he`ll become a sargent and compete with untitled soldiers to enter the war academy. The price, youngest of king Haakon`s four children, has not yet been granted royal funds, and his pay as a soldier is five Norwegian crowns (about 65 cents) a day.

Price Harald (extreme left), falls in for early morning inspection at camp Trandum, north of Olso. He enterd sevice a month ago, has passed his entrance examination to the school recruting sergeants for the cavalry and will finish his training in the school in april 1957. After several months of compul sory service as a sergeant, he wil enter the "Royal Norwegian Military Academy" in Oslo.

Norwegian royalty skiis in Maryland.
Young prince Harald of Norway, who wil celebrate his birthday, Feb. 21, took advantage of the snowfall on the Maryland Estate of Crown Prince Olav and Crown Princess Martha of Norway, to try out his new skiis.

Off Norway - The German cruiser "Karlsruhe" wich was lost in fighting of Norway during the invasion
of Norway. The "Karlsruhe" is a 6 000-tonn ship and was sunk off Kristiansand - Norway 10 april 1940.
