    Here is another one of my pics that showed up in the mail today, the back is marked;

    Aqfa-Lupex

    It is lightly marked as if it fading from being so old.

    I love this pic of SS-Obergruppenführer und General der Waffen SS Theodor Eicke.

    It shows plenty of age.

    I had to use a piece of cardboard behind this pic to show the edges of the back, as the front shows age, and the back has been protected from sun light over the years, every time i tried to scan the pic, the edges on the back would not show up.

    thanks

    I also agree with Paul, i collect SS photos..... and i would never purchase a "Russian Archived" photo. Definate red flag on this one. All these supposed archive photos are always of great, perfect, shots. Look at the face of the photo, it looks dimpled, like orange peel on a cars paint. Original period photos, or at least most will be smooth. The amount ,if any of gloss to the photo is due to the quality of paper used. Makers marks will give that away also. No lines= low quality, one line =mid grade, and two lines equal= high quality(Agfa paper brands only ). If you are going to purchase photos, look for original makers marks on the rear of the photo, ie Agfa-Lupex, Agfa-Brovia, Velox, etc.

    Hi, my opinion, keep the photos, if they are original, i think they are of greater importance and value than the walther ppk.
    Just my opinion.
    Cheers

    i am a huge fan of any thing photograpy related, especially when its third reich related!! these photos are neat, i like the family shots with the HJ child. i do not know any value of the walther in any way, but i agree photos are of great importance! they tell the story of a persons life

    this is a photo from my collection with simular markings, it supposedly comes from the kharkov museum that closed down due to costs of keeping it running, but i have my doubts it's real.

    I find it really hard to believe that every single photograph coming out of Russia to be fake, as the Russians did take everything they could get their hands on.

    And it does come out of Russian archives, then it would make sense to have Russian writing/stamps on the back.

    I know there are plenty of fakes out there, but not all of them are fakes.

    Just my 2 cents worth.

    Thanks
