Hi Mark, this would make sense. See these 2 POW examples from my collection:

These are German POWs being held in Canadian Camp "Espanola".
Note Full Uniforms w/rank AND Badges allowed to be worn

Here we have 2 Germans w/ there British captor.
Note ALL insignia (rank and swas) has been Stripped! But still original uniforms worn.

A good thing that I have also learned from a #1 source on German POWs (Bob Henderson) is that in Canadian camps, the Germans were expected to keep there uniforms in decent shape if they expected to keep wearing them. Once original uniforms were worn out, they were issued prisoner/camp shirts that had a Big Red Cirlce patch sewn on the back! (im sure there were other circumstances which these red circle shirts were given too!) Check out his website when you have a chance. A very friendly and knowledgable man, w/ a great POW collection!

Hey Guys, I just noticed that our thread is only 15,000 views away from being Sticky/pinned to the top right of the "Most viewed threads" list on the forums Index Page! Thought that was pretty neat! GREAT WORK and lets keep it going!!

I know Mark, it surprised me too!

I was able to pick up another few photos from Luft KG4-General Wever again. (here are 2 of 3)

Anyone know what that oval pin is above the badge on the Portrait pic? Maybe a variant of a KG4 unit pin? Note the drop tail eagles

From the horizontally-oval shape, my guess would be that it is a DLRG qualification badge: DLRG (Deutsche Lebens-Rettungs-Gemeinschaft) » U norka . It's not clear enough to make a positive ID, though.

I know this might not be the proper thread, but as its kinda slow at the moment, I figured I would share my retouching of a Panzer Regiment 33 Panzerjager
(the tunic came out more green than I thought, and I am going to change it a bit)

Yes you are correct on the detail Bill that was the hole reason that I purchased this particular pin was the incredible detail I thought it to be a very nice piece. As to your new color enhanced photo are the tunics to be more of a field grey as are the M-36 ---M-44's and thank you for the thread to the DLRG site HPL.
