Also I think I see a German Cross . Does he look familiar to anyone? That would be awesome if this was Joachim Peiper!

Unfortunately it's not Peiper Dean !! He's wearing a Sturmartillerie wrap and looks like the DKiG but a bigger copy of the photo would be better !!

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
House Carles at the Battle of Hastings
I'll see what I can do.Thanks Paul.

That's better mate , it looks to me like it could be Rolf Diercks from Das Reich !! DKiG 24/3/1943.

4)reverse of former photo (translation would be great!) :
Pleased to help mate , Diercks was Adjutant of Regiment Deutschland when he won the DKiG , he ended the war as a SS Sturmbannfuhrer and Ia of II SS Panzer Korps , this photo was obviously taken after his last promotion !!
