    Don't mind if I do.

    It says:

    "Dem lieben Vater.
    Sepp.
    Hab ihr mein Päkchen schon
    "

This is slightly misspelled; it should be "Habt" and "Päckchen" and means:

    "To my dear father.
    Sepp.
Did you get my parcel yet?
    "

(Primarily used in Southern Germany, "Sepp" is a colloquial/affectionate/short form of "Josef" or "Joseph". In other words, our equivalent of "Joe".)
i love these educational posts of Andreas. God bless you mate

    Thanks for your replies guys.
So all those double decal helmets out there were used against the regulations or they were not used after the regs were instituted?
There are photos of German soldiers using double decal helmets well after 1940, and even after the 1943 regulations that made it so that all of the helmets produced from then until the end of the war were to have no decals at all. I imagine a lot of the double decal helmets were also forgotten about, kept in warehouses, etc.

The first one is from the picture of civilians on a Bridge and my guess was the women for the second two words.

The second one is the picture of some soldiers on boats with their ladies. (This one I cant make out a single word)

Thanks HPL for the translation of the Luft picture!

The first one reads, "Auf dem Fähre am 21.9.41", which means, "On the ferry on September 21st, 1941"

The second one reads, "Greetings (can't make out the rest)" lol

It is a Leichter Panzerspähwagen with apparently a missing turret.

    Google 'SdKfz 221'.
