    The album covers his life and military service from prewar to lowly Schutze , Feldwebel and then an Officer in 1943 , he saw service in Russia 1941, Stalingrad 1942 , refitting in France in 1943 then Italy for the remainder of the war New Photo Pick-Ups - Please Share

    Guard duty as a lowly Schutze , transitional lid, M36 tunic and Early IR 15 shoulder boards and also ones of him wearing an NCO's Waffenrock and wearing some awards after his first combats during Barbarossa.

    Right Paul, I believe these 16 ID pics are probably early to mid 42..??

    Man, Awesome Album pics!! I'm going to look at them more closely... I cant believe he actually survived the war, judging by what he went thru!
    He looks so innocent in his wedding pic, but not so much anymore as an officer!

    Looks like Bill before they really headed south into the Kalmuk steppe !!

    Yes he had a very nasty head wound these shots are when it was well on the way to healing , i have quite a lot of albums but scanning and posting them is such a time consuming job !!

    Does the "R" next to the motorised Infantry tactical symbol mean "Reserve"??
    Bill the tactical sign is of course for a motorised unit , the R is for the Regimental Staff !!

    You are definitely correct Paul. What does the back of this pic say? "Kirov" or "KirovA"?? Arent there many Kirova Localities in Russia?
    Regimental Staff....haha! Wow I feel like an idiot! Lol thanks

    I guess it could even be... Kirovo, Ukraine.....
