    Some of my recent additions.
    1) radio operators in the snow.
    2) Luftwaffe soldier at some camp, winter 1943.
    3) Nazi official
    4) What appears to be Hungarian or Rumanian soldiers(??) with some German soldiers, lots of horses, by the banks of either (I'd guess) the Baltic or Black sea. Note the contraptions which appear to be for launching boats. Not at all clear what this photo shows.

Here is one Ive been searching out for a while again. I already have a photo w/ SS TK tabs on a black Heer wrap.......but I now have an example of a Grey StuG wrap with SS Totenkopfs in place of panzer skulls!

Any help or guesses at a translation would be much appreciated!

Great photo Bill. I love seeing Heer personnel utilizing SS TKs. I always wondered what Waffen-SS guys said about seeing their Heer counterparts wearing their skulls?

    Bill T:

Can't get it all cause I'm in a hurry and suetterlin is just hell, but the first two lines are: "My dear, good son. 24 years old." Then there is an address and what looks like "Kein(??) Anschift" ("not a postal address" or "no postal address") and it is dated December 1944.

Someone care to tighten that up when I'm gone?

Awesome! Thanks a bunch for giving it a go. I'm suprised you got that out of it, thank you! I only got to "Meine Lieber" plus the date and was literally "lost in translation"! haha

Bryant, I know..... I've also wondered how they got their hands on these TK's too. Wonder if they were able to order from old stock or maybe traded for them??
Nice GJ pic w/ Reiterabziechen too!

the date is written a little strange, Bill, because the guy truncates the month without a dash when he reaches the end of the card like this:

    "Dezem
    ber 1944"

the word just before that looks like "Mitte" so maybe it's "Mitte Dezember 1944" or "Mid-December 1944"?

Oh, yes, Sütterlin is hell, indeed...

I have managed to decypher most of the caption from post # 2753, except for the street and the surname. It says:

"Mein lieber guter Sohn 24 Jahre
    alt - Beuthen O/S

    [...]str. 6
    Keine Anschrift
    seit Mitte Dezem-
    ber 1944
    "

    ...meaning:

"My dear, good son, 24 years
    of age - Beuthen O/S

    [...]str. 6
    No address
    since mid-Decem-
    ber 1944
    "

On the left is a name: Egon [...].

The "O/S" is the abbreviation for "Oberschlesien" [= Upper Silesia], which is where Beuthen (Polish name Bytom) is located.

The chap in the second wedding photo appears to have his right arm in a sling hidden behind the brides bouquet.
'I do not think we can hope for any better thing now.
We shall stick it out to the end, but we are getting weaker of course, and the end cannot be far.
It seems a pity, but I do not think I can write more. R. SCOTT.
Last Entry - For God's sake look after our people.'

In memory of Capt. Robert Falcon Scott, Edward Wilson, Henry Bowers, Lawrence Oates and Edgar Evans. South Pole Expedition, 30th March 1912.
