Just got this set of a DKG winner and looking for some more info on the unit.

Here is the info that I was able to get:

    Info from the WW2 Awards

    DEUTSCHES KREUZ IN GOLD

    World War 2 Awards.com - TLLE, Kurt

And some info on his place of death

    Vorname: Kurt

    Geburtsdatum: 16.02.1917

I figured that the 25th regiment was part of the 7th panzer division (please correct me if I am wrong)

So he must have received his award for action in Ukraine (probably in the battles around Zhitomir) and was KIA during the operation Bagration, more precisely during the drive of Chernyakhovsky (3rd Belorussian Front) towards the Riga Golf.

I was not able to find the reported name of the place where he was KIA (Desyduvchai) and don't have any info on the engagement in this area. Also cannot figure out the inscriptions on the back of the letter. Any help will be much appreciated.

Thank you. Photo collecting is pretty affordable but it is getting mighty competitive on Ebay lately.
