Nsdap group photo for you all to see....

Article about: I recently bought this one, and what is throwing me off is the NON-ARYAN in the pic, I have never seen a photograph of any NSDAP members with such a person in the pic with them. What do you

I thought that was Meyer, but i wasn't sure, and the other photo, i like that one because of the assault tank badges on their sleeves.

I did not realize who they were either, and the person i got the photographs had no idea either, or i wouldn't have gotten them so cheaply.

So, do you think since these are original photos i have, that they should have more historical value, then most of the other photos i have?

    Thanks
    Brian
The single SS Officer photo is possibly an official US Army photograph, judging by the
barb wire fencing behind him and the overall clarity of the shot.

The last two could be reprints for cigarette albums or postcards, rather than someone's
personal or private and unpublished photos. They resemble press photos of the period,
especially the KC award shot, so I think they were made as such and printed 'en mass'.

Still very cool to have them..........................!

    Steve.

These photos are like all of my other photographs i have been collecting over the years, So I'm pretty sure that these are originals.

Same type of paper, and same small size photograph types.

Photos were also sold in packs - like trading cards of today -
to familiarise the countrys young people with it's heroes........

I noticed a fair amount of thin scratches on the 'awards' photo.
They don't look like they are on the photo itself, and this is
what leads me to think it is a reprint.

If this is an original, It's too bad they broke up the album,
    or the entire group..........

Did these come from somewhere in Europe other than Germany ?
    Regards,

    Steve.

The photographs came from pics came from Russian captured photo albums, and have been in the Ukraine filed away for decades.

I tried to buy the entire album, but by the time i was able to do that, they had already sold majority of them, and i was able to get some of the photos, like the one with the assault tank destruction badges on their sleeves.

And the one you are talking about with the scratches, it is an original, and the scratches, it does have some scratches on it.

here is a pic of the back, how can i tell if its an reproduction, when they made that photo of Hermann Weiser, Kurt Meyer and Dr. Hermann Besuden, could there have been multiple copies of it made originally.

The one showing the back of it is the one in question.

    The back of the photo has the following, it looks like a company trademark ;

    Aqfa-Lupex

And after i put all of their names in a google search, i did find what you are talking about.

Here is the link, and in my photo , there are scratches, and on this web site, the photo does not have any scratches at all.

I hope mine that i have is not a reproduction/fake, I'm hoping that multiple copies of it were made after the pic was taken.

I did notice on this web site, the photo seems to be cropped, as Dr. Hermann Besuden shoulder is cut off, and in my photo, you can see him completely, with the SS sleeve eagle showing.

And also on my photo, you can see the ADOLF HITLER cuff title completely on Hermann Weiser's tunic.

So, i feel really good now, that mine is an authentic period photograph.

There has been some discussion about reprinted photos on the forum
    a month or two ago.

You can see what I meant about the scratches in the photo,
rather than 'on' the photo. The one on the site you provided had
no scratches at all - taken from the original negative.

Which probably means the one you have was duplicated many times
for distribution. You could classify it as a period reproduction,
    but not a fake !

'Agfa Lupex' is a typical TR period photographic paper,
and I think Agfa is still in business...

Thanks Walkwolf, It is made the same way as all of my other photos are, i know for sure it is of the TR period, I'm sure when they took that photo, there would have many prints of it made, and passed out to members in his unit, or for others at the time, so i know its legit.

I was a little concerned, as , who knows with all of the fakers these days.

So i know it was made during the TR time frame, but like you said an reproduction, NOT A FAKE.

    I really do like collecting these original SS pics, my favorite one of all of them is this one;

just look at all of those Allgemeine SS tunics..

    Thanks

Millions of dollars in wool and buntmetal on parade.
Where the heck did all those uniforms end up...............?

Getting any period photos of the SS is hard enough,
and more expensive than any other type !

    A nice collection !

I would love to have just a small fraction of those uniforms/tunics, and that standarte.

I love looking for SS photo's.

    I have plenty more.
