Hello Paul, great Pictures. I bought an Album from a Soldier of GR162 with 2 Pictures from Operation Beowolf. I have to spend a little bit Time and Work for the Pictures and then i would show them. The Album is in Bad Condition and all Pictures are with writing on the back. they are fixed with glue and i have to put them out of the Album. must spend a litle bit work. translate the writing from the back and then all scan.

    Greetings Sascha
Looking forward to seeing them Sascha , hope you have time to ppost some of your other wonderful photos from 61 ID

Another photo showing Troops from 61 ID advancing down Tartu Mantee from the area of the Papermill towards the Kesklinn , this shot seems to show that the fighting is now over and the trains elements and support units are coming into the City !!

Interesting to see the concrete electricity poles are still in situ and being used. During the war they were also used in Britain as there was a severe shortage of Norway spruce due to Mr Hitler cutting off supplies. Like the ones in Estonia there are still a few dotted around and still quite sturdy as they are steel reinforced.

Very nice photos!! Thank you for sharing.

I have a large Feldpost collection of more than 70 letters and postcards, from an unterofficier from the 68. Infanterie division who fought at the eastern front and was KIA. He also mentions fights with partisans and a lot more. These foto's are very impressive to see after reading this Feldpost. Thanks again for sharing!
