The Sydnor book is the best scholarly book on the subject. There are multi volume apologia unit histories of Totenkopf, which are not historically accurate.
The Sydnor book is the standard work. There are other works, too, if you are interested, in German, of very high quality and which can easily get in Austria
on the Waffen SS.

There are also well done biographies of certain figures associated with the SS Totenkopfverbaende and the later Waffen SS Totenkopf Division.
These include the persons of Theodor Eicke and Max Simon.

But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

Thanks for sharing, Sabine. I enjoyed viewing the album it a lot. Your father went through some of the fiercest battles of the war at Demjansk and Charkov. Must been an incredible service, make sure to preserve it for future generations.

Everything this member posted has been removed before it was noticed, unfortunately. Not much we can do now except to delete it but I felt that there was still some pertinent information posted so, I have left it so far.
