Another interesting one , taken in October 1940 when Reichsfuhrer SS Heinrich Himmler visited the Totenkopf Divison in the South of France where it was resting and refitting after the French campaign.

Featured is Himmer , to his right is SS Brigadefuhrer Theodor Eicke ,commander of the T Div and behind Himmer looking down is Jochen peiper who at this time was Himmlers Adjutant !!
Thought i'd bring this thread back up after quite a few years to see if anyone has any interesting press photos !

Behind Knoblauch is SS Sturmbannfuhrer Rudolf Brandt who was the Personal Administrative Officer to Himmler , he was also part of Himmlers party that left Flensburg on 10th may 1940 to escape to Bavaria , he became separated from Himmler and surrendered to the British on 21st May 1945 . He was convicted of war crimes and crimes against humanity, and executed in 1948.
Behind Eicke is SS Untersturmfuhrer Josef “ Sepp “ Kiermaier Himmlers Personal Bodyguard .
Behind Himmler himself is future SS Standartenfuhrer , Swords Winner and Commander of SS Panzer Regiment 1 Jochen Peiper . At this time Peiper was an SS Hauptsturmfuhrer and one of the Adjutants on Himmlers staff .
The other Officers appear to be all from the Totenkopf Division .
