POWs on a forced march?

Hello all,

I picked up this photo today, a group of POWs, i believe. I am seeking your help in identifying the nationality of these
troops, and if possible a translation of the inscription on the back side. As always i look forward to your input.

I think they are Eastern European. Not sure though....

Polish Army POWs from 1939 campaign

can you take close up of the road sign in the back ?
we can pin point the location where it was taken

Reverse appears to read "Polnische Gefangene..." which is indeed "Polish prisoners"

Clicking on the image with the road sign does enlarge the picture. Unfortunately, it is not so clear.
