    Hi,

About 2 years ago a colleague was cleaning up a garage and found a Danish ww2-helmet with a bag of slides in it.
He knew that I am a collector of ww2-militaria and asked if I would be interested in the items - I could have them for free.

There are 54 slides - all from Denmark during ww2, mainly from Copenhagen.
    Slides are numbered and named.
Some of the slides are "action-photos" and shot in places where ordinary people not could have been.
Leads me to believe that the man who took these photos where journalist with connections.

I will show you some of them here.

First we have a picture that is taken from the area of the Danish Royal Castle(Amalienborg) in Copenhagen.
Slide is marked 19. Septemper 1944 - the day where the Danish police where captured and deported to Germany.
The policeguard at the entrance to Amalienborg had been guarding the king since his personal lifeguards had been disarmed 29. august 1943.
On the 19. september 1944 the policeguard defended the castle so powerfull that the Germans later announced that it was an misunderstanding that they would capture the policguard.
On Danish side, two policeguards an the castle-manager where wounded.
On German side, 20 german soldiers where killed an twice as many wounded.
Among the killed germans where SS-Oberscharführer Fritz Himmel from "Petergroup".
Damage from the german canon/gunfire can still be seen on the castle today.

Great photo - I my opinion!

Very interesting and super rare photos.

The third photo is from Ringsted Barracks, which was made HQ of the Schalburgkorps, after they were forced to leave Copenhagen in fall 44. Alot of them are wearing Danish Army uniforms with SS/Schalburgkorps insignias.

Do you have more from Dagmarhus or anything related to the Schalburgkorps?

    Cheers, Mads
