    As far as i know by 1945 506 was equipped with Tiger II after they lost 21 Tiger 1's in a single day , 22nd July 1944 !! They were requipped with Tiger II 's in September 1944 !!
    The gates of hell were opened and we accepted the invitation to enter" 26/880 Lance Sgt, Edward Dyke. 26th Bn Northumberland Fusiliers , ( 3rd Tyneside Irish )

    27 tanks lost during the retreat in the Stepance - Ladance sector, correct about the new Tiger II in september, since beginning of 45 it was harder to recive new TII and refurbished T I were assigned instead of TII in total 74 TII and 94 T I out of 94 9 were assigned in 1945..... missing zimmerit and new smaller marking or allmost unexisting marking is tipical for last months of war, the crest shown is one of those.
