The first photo is interesting as it shows a Panzerkampfwagen IV Ausf. A of which only 35 units were built. Some of these saw action in Poland in 1940.

The second pic is a Panzerkampfwagen III, i'm thinking a G or H as there is what appears to be a command aerial on the left rear behind the turret, but i'm not certain of the exact model from this angle.

indeed and a very early example at that. The MKIII does not have the hatches on the front plate.
A very early one as it's a Panzer IV Ausf A, you can tell it's an A model by the distinctive commanders cupola, only 35 produced so it's a photo of a very rare model!...

Sh*t, Ned beat me to it!......

Don't worry Gunny, a gentleman always comes second.

Here's a pic showing the unique 'dustbin' like cupola on an Ausf.A under test.

Top photo is a Mk IV F1 or earlier model not Mk III N model-short L24 75mm gun-last production model of the tank, ironically armed with the low velocity gun used in the role of fire support that the slightly bigger Mk IV had originally been armed with but the Mk IV could be upgunned with the longer L43 and then L48 75mm gun, whilst the Mk III carried the long L60 50mm as the maximum calibre high velocity weapon that could be fitted as seen in the lower photo-this is an L or M model Mk III.
Is that an edit I see?
