What kind of Eagle is this Luft. Off. wearing?

I have never noticed a Luftwaffe Officer wearing an eagle on his upper left arm like the Waffen SS (and Hitler) did. Is that common?

hi i believe he's DLV the fore runner to the luftwaffe before it became 'legal'

Hi Bob, my forum friend is correct, he is DLV. Note the small sized cap insignia, dagger etc.
