Article about: [QUOTE=Styx;564812]I just won this photograph on eBay and I can't work out what these soldiers are all about. They're wearing a combination of what looks like grey and black uniforms, with 2

    Thank you Ned!

The book burning window breaking looting pillaging of some remote farmhouse full of non teutonic or non idealistic literature by sinister bad guy SS men who must surely be up to no good because they're SS men and who are not officers theory has finally been laid to rest.

Unless anyone thinks they're giving a harvest of corn a damn good thrashing because they couldn't find any books to burn.................?

Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

Why do I get the feeling that's about me... ¬.¬

Nah, seriously, thanks everyone for this monster brainstorming session, it's great to arrive at the truth of the matter and solve the puzzle! I apologise again for any misinformed comments I've made, they've been duly rethought. I'll never criticise the SS ever again!

    Kind regards,

    Robbie

    Hmmm..... I wonder......

Plenty to criticise them for Robbie but just do it in the correct context and at the right time. Sensationalizing an innocent photo into something it isn't is just wrong.

Please never buy a photo of an SS man holding a kitten or getting married!

Haha! I know, I know, it's stereotyping. It's similar to the idea that if my school had a bad reputation well deserved, I'd be cast under the same stigma just because I wore the uniform. I'll make sure I think these things through in future.

My next photo I want shows some SS men on a road trip. I can't think of anything sinister about that

Don't worry, I can take a joke I'd be no fun if I got all up in arms over every tongue-in-cheek comment people made... plus it's nice to have a little militaria humour on here!
