looks like all the medals have been superimposed.
-
Yes, a common practice, as Gi states - at least in the case of the RK until the recipient could visit a proper studio with his decoration often awarded in the field.
-
Wish I can find out his name...What would the medal on his right chest be?
-
Right side : EK 1st class, Wound badge, Close combat clasp. Medal Bar looks like Sudetenland land with Prague Bar, West Wall and by the looks of it a long service medal.
Left side : German Eastern Peoples Medal 1st Class

Just found this: No Russian soldier serving in the German Army ever received the Knight's Cross to the Iron Cross..... So probably it's another medal?
-
The Ostvolk 1st class was worn on the lower left breast, like the Iron Cross. The one in the photo is on his right breast.

Maybe it's supposed to be a DK. It looks to me like the upper arms of a swastika are visible.
-
The medal on the right breast is not a DK. The shape is incorrect. A DK is far more solid as this appears to have narrow arms protruding from the center. It is likely a foreign award.
