Thank you all for your comments. Indeed, I'm really proud of the photos my grandfather shot while at war.

Can someone perhaps tell anything about the monuments seen on some photos ? Where are they ?

    Cheers Martin

    - I have a photoset from another one of my family from WW I too. He was a flying ace and there are also some interesting photos. If interest is still there I will publish them too.

Great photos, and thank you for sharing. It seems that the first part before it swiched to invasion of France, was operation barbarrosa. I was suspecting southern Russia like ukraine region, but I could be wrong. Was he ever a pow? (if you don't want to answer the question it ok.) thank you for sharing your photos it felt like I was sort of watching a movie, following one guy. You grand father was in it from almost the beginning of the war.

As far as I know my grandfather never was a pow. He had so much luck not beeing caught by the russians or other allied forces.

I asked dd-wast.de some days ago if they have any information about my grandfather, but as we all know it will take some month before they send any documents.

I hope that these documents bring more clarity to where he's been in the war.

    Cheers, Martin

It is a great pleasure for me to show you all the photos my grandfather took at war although it took much time to scan, rearrange and publish them but it is also fun and every time I look at the photos I see new details I haven't seen before.

I hope I'll have the time to post the other WWI and WWII photos on friday.

    Cheers, Martin
