    Dimas-
I can plainly see how hunting in the woods was intoxicating for a young lad. Well, it was only the begining of the addiction. Did you really leave that fallshirmjaeger helmet behind?

Hi Sam, never be afraid to ask a question.

Wolchow is on the Northern part of the Eastern Front towards Leningrad (now St Petersburg)

    Cheers, Ade.

Yes, they was not in the condition which I would love to have ( I've take the helmets which was in condition with 100% non rust), there was a time when I've leave ss messkits and other stuff in the forest-was newer thought that it will be valuable stuff in the future. In that time was not a hard something like a buckle etc, which was throw away by some diggers who will take only weapons...

Question Re: 1980's end... Digging at the Wolchow front

Dimas.... I know that given my penchant for digging around for stuff I probably would have blown myself to bits had I lived around there. I collect German 8.8cm ordinance....

I would love to find a German S-Mine which I'm sure there are still plenty of in that area. Are they still dangerous? I know that the artillery projectiles are if anything more dangerous than they were...
