    Default 3 Relic German Bayonets

    G'day,

    Just received these three beauties.

The one in the scabbard still goes in and out.

These were found near Poznan, the area where one of Great Uncles was killed, thats the main reason I got these, imgine if one of them was his.....

Heavily rusted and pitted, cant make out any numbers, still nice to have......Have in mind to display one with my E U F Horster bayonet, so one rusty, one good, and my relic M35 with my good M35 together

spray on Fish oil here I come!!!!!

I just gve them a wash in some warm soapy water and a wire brush, I doubt oxialic acid will bring them up any better, where all the markings would be is heavily pitted...giving them a hit with the fish oil will stabilise whats left and make a nice addition to my stuff!!!

Actually its amazing what customs lets thru, they still had german mud on them.....I got a relic ammo tim form the ukraine, when I opened it it has scary russian spider eggs in it!

30 bucks for the two with no scabbard, and 40 for the other, and with the location they were found, had to have them!

    Thinkin about calling this display

    "the horrors of war" or

"the horrors of not looking after your kit" or

"where di I leave my helmet and bayonet, then looking for 60 years, and saying, bugger its always in the last place you look!"
