Have just finnished the cleaning and final treatment of the metalwork of this relic. Started at 10.00am this morning and have just finnished it now. It was very tricky to clean in places but it gave me something to do all day and im really pleased with the results. It looks more like how it would have originally appeared now. Hope the pics will do as when i took the last few pics it was getting dark. Best Regards, Tim.

Wow you've excelled yourself thats a museum quality piece now, I can see you've put a lot of elbow grease into the restoration. Superb job.

Cheers Ian, and it looks so much better now all that surface and lose rust has been removed. I finnished it off with Kurust which will protect the metal and ensure its around for another 60-70 years or more! Cheers Loads mate, Tim.

Cheers mate, This is the part i like most of all with these kinds of relics and just love doing the work on them. It could have been left as it was but the cleaning and treatment process will mean it wont ever rust or corrode again and will be here long after ive gone! Looks so much better now though as a display piece. Will get and work on that piece of perimeter electric fence today that was found by Ian at the US Army Dump as it will look good once given the works! Cheers again and best regards, Tim.
