    Did a four hour run yesterday in miserable conditions ~


    Two of us plugged away at a familiar site ~ and despite the fickle and foul weather we enjoyed an outing as we always ~ do ~ BUT boy trying conditions ~ Nothing outstanding !

    Hey mate,will more than likely be a 37mm M3 gun cartridge case used in a M4 wheeled carriage or mounted on the stuart light tank..were a few other mountings but these two are the most common..fired solid AP shot similar to the 2pdr,HE and canister shot which is similar to a shotgun round for a large calibre weapon..

    Hey Sean

    It belongs to a bloke at work and his dad bought it back from New Guinea after serving there during the war ~

    That would completely gel as they used the Stuart tank extensively eh !

    Now for the trick Mystery bits of yesterday ~ I studied various weapons including the Bren Gun and the Owen but no luck ~

    The item with the notch cut out of the side looks like it takes a cable or somesuch in the notch...does it have a clamp that could pull down on a cable or wire?

    I have been collecting this sort of thing for almost 40 years, I don't remember where they came from.
    But I hit the Military shows, I head out each Sunday Morning around 4 am to get to the Flea Markets while the dealers unpack ect
    So I guess you can say I buy them where ever I can find them.
