Been raining cats ad Dogs and the only I could Hunt was to either risk or get drenched ~ worked both way ~
Three hunts same site ~ Australian and US Army General Head quarters ~ Pls Communications centre and Pigeon Loft units.
Group Photo of Australian and US military Senior ranks during a Conference 1942 ~
As the rain has seriously created regrowth I figured my current last resort site will and is over growing rapidly and the best move is get in there before the tangle weeds over run the entire site. The farmer's cows have now gotten very choosy about what grass they eat ad then they are not eating fast enough.
A curious first find ~ two coppers fused together ~
A battle damaged fifty cal 1942 LC ~ A off cut of a 2 Pdr. ~ A brass Pipe Union ~
An unusual belt end ~ I am wondering if it is US Army
Looks pretty innocuous. But is full and actually bordering on Impenetrable!
Fossick #491
Same site ~ Grass even taller ~ more rain and Sunshine to cultivate the under growth` the Cockie's Cows are not eating fast enough!
A intriguing signal combination ~ a tent Peg with a brass Tarp Ring ~
Queen Vic Bun Penny 1885 Arguably one of the Best QV coins to date
I dug a strong signal~ < 30-31 > I turned out a Three pence ~ but that seemed too strong for a thrip! Looked again ~ and blow me down a Florin ~ Checked again ~ A KG VI Roo Penny ~
I was so pumped as i have not seen a Florin for 2 1/2 Years ! ~ I rang home base oto report in and then was about to refill the hole but checked it once more and WOW ~ A Ram's head Shilling !
The Other trench art letter opener ~ Pity about the Cow bell as it is solid Brass ~ a Pearler ~
The small rectangular tag is a Service Ribbon tag ~ most likely a Africa Star ribbon which was very common after Australian troops retruned form the North African campaign ~
The King George VI Florins are Beautiful coins ~ and 93% silver these period Silvers obviously respond wonderfully to cleaning ~
