My wife and me at a WW1 memorial site. My Volksbund mate say the city council may "change" this memorial as the inscription(Flamme Empor) is not "in step with modern times"....
From another WW1 memorial. Note the yellowish paint remains on the plates in the background. Some "activists" sprayed them over. It's solely a WW1 memorial. Text under the soldiers feet is "Ich hatte ein Kamerad". Famous song.
Memorial for civilians killed in bombing raids. Note the age of Heidemarie.....
Memorial for submariners. Not far from U995

I like how German Volksbund grave sites have a more "rustic" design (if such a word can be use) than the Commonwealth and US graves.
