Hello, sorry for the long silence. Here's some pics from last time digging.
In the same trench (on the south-east corner of Gren. Hill) where we found a Flandern soldier just about 3 meters far we found a two russians soldiers killed in aktion. Bodies was whole. I think they were killed in a trench during a close combat. One soldier had a fragmentation in a stomach and broken arm. He also had a PPSCH on the neck, but remains only a belt. After the retaiking the trenches germans cutted with the knife the PPSCH but dropped it down because it was damaged. The PPSCH we found later in a trench one meter far.
The second soldier was wounded to the face and hold it with the hands. We found his soldier book in a pocket. There also was a couple of a letters. But everything are gone. Only we can read address of a letter, (may be his father or brother or friend from Sverdlovskaja oblast, Siberia)

Lately I digged with the Robo a good garbage hole near the big german bunker. There was a half of Niederland dog tag.

two times ago we found three ss buckles, but all was steel and rusty. Last time we found three belts but all of them without buckles. Margus took one to the home and wash it. Then he found a "SS Norge regiment" inscription on it.

Hiya Alex, Dimas, Pavel, Vladimir and Robo and members of Das Auvere Schutzengraben Taucher Abteilung, many thanks for a wonderful trip! Had an absolutely amazing time (once again!!) and can`t wait to get back there again in Sept. and see some more fascinating WW2 eastern front history being unearthed.
The weather was exellent, the forests were incredibly beautiful in the early Estonian springtime and I could not have wished to have been there with better people!

Hi, everybody, especcially to members of Das Auvere Schutzengraben Taucher Abteilung. Thank you for your reply.
Paul, sorry, but this picture of a Ned. tag is the best, I made about 10 pics, but something was wrong with my camera or with my arms.
It's a 759 ERS.KP.FRW.LEG. NEDERLAND. The condition is "so so". Anyway, Robo has took it.
Big bunker located on the west-north side of a gren.hill, down under the big Cross monument, about 100 meters far. This bunker was digged 15 years ago by Robo and Valera Knjaz. At that time they also found a half of a Nederland dog tag.
On the next week we plane to go to the eastern field, near the Kinderheim hill, it's strictly near the farms where was a first trenches with the Danmarks captured by russians in a first day of an offensive in july 27. 5 years ago some farmers during an agricultural work found a german remains there with the Danmark tags and lately Valera Knjaz tryied to dig there and found about 5 bodies, but he did it afraid of owner of field. We have a permission. Hope that Valera did not found all of them.

Looks like an early member of the Legion Nederland before they became Seyffard and De Ruyter.

Sounds like the east fields near the Kinderheim will be a good place most of the guys in those first Danmark trenches will never have been recovered after the first day of the Battle so most of them will still be there. As you say hopefully Valera will not have found all of them.

When are you going to do that dig ?
