Just for everyone's information, the bidding has ended on this sign
and the final price was $1,302.22 US ! Unbelievable..........

I think the Officials in European towns with any relation to WWII battles
had better keep careful watch on all their signage ! !

    ................Gotta go !
( The enamel has dried on the 30 signs I just finished ! )

    Regards, Steve.
Too late. I already have 30 Bastogne signs with 'Nuts' written 'by a soldier' underneath the name, 20 Falaise signs, 15 Kursk's, 12 Stalingrad's, 10 Carentans and a boat load of others.

Welcome along Danpy. Nice part of Ardennes to get a house! This forum doesn't like to give valuations for items. If want to sell them then best stick them on EBay or whatever. They are old signs, but difficult to say if from 1950's or earlier. You found any US kit in your loft?

Had to edit, as I misread it as Livremont!

From what I can see I would say they are original. However...

Having had another trawl I don't think they are WW2 era.

Look in good condition, where did you find them, inside the house or outside? I would think the first thing you need to do is establish if the blue signs with white lettering date back to the wartime period. My book of the Ardennes battles of 1944 shows black and white photos of road signs that are similar to those in the above post, ie white signs with black or blue lettering.

The above photo may be slightly misleading as the Houffalize sign in it is likely to be on a yellow ground with a red outline I think, as it is literally on the outskirts of the town itself. The blue signs by danpy I think date to post war - as all the wartime ones I've seen were black letters on white.
