Hello Scout, I like to dig too, but where I live there are only few spots for ww2 stuff and mainly 2nd or 3rd line. We don't find Flak rounds, heavy shells, mortar rounds, mines and so on. That's why I used the word "hardcore" They also look pretty dangerous to me, since I am used to dig badges and small things only
I understand and I also have a healthy respect for things that can explode. I leave such stuff behind and have no desire to mess with it.
i've looked on gogle earth and cannot find it.
Where is Nerva and the three hills?
love your finds, i hope you will find more and more of these items. great for a first timer as well . keep up the good work
greetings

Ben, I have not been detecting in the Hurtgen Forrest, but would love to go there.
dutchww2 - thanks for the kind words.
it takes my breath away when anyone digs up any form of uxb that has been in the ground for sixty or so years , great finds but not worth your life i am sure .
Been there... brilliant place to visit! However, you would certainly need to dig to find anything & digging is strictly prohibited there! Probably why we didnt come across any holes or soil piles to even suggest digging!... This obviously makes you want to dig more.......Ben, I have not been detecting in the Hurtgen Forrest, but would love to go there.
Dan
