looks like some type of towing pin, IMO.

    Question

It could be as u say, BUT...I think the 'pin' (bottom side...see last 3 photos...) is (was ?) too short to be used as towing pin...; maybe a...'link pin', between...?

    Another idea...?

I can't say exactly now...but , I think it could be fit a hand palm (the entire 'pin'...)...

Fairly small then..? Could be something like a locking pin to secure an MG onto a tripod, or something similar along those lines?

    Welcome Tudoro,
A word to the wise. Always useful to place a measuring slide next to the find to help show the size of the find. Sorry i'm none the wiser on what your pin find is, could belong to a piece of forestry equipment - because things got lost other than during the war...

    Question

My bad...I 'zoomed' the image... ;-), to see the details .

Not bad 'idea' with the MG tripod...maybe we can see the MGs used then...to confirm it.

First time...my idea was...a piece of cable (wire ? ...) support (that little hole...); maybe that bottom part was fixed into a wood or iron bar...who knows ? Or...maybe a piece of horse 'equipment' ?

Exactly - to be honest could be anything .... from military to agricultural use, maybe if you cleaned it up a little it may reveal more clues?
