Cheers Steve, will give that a try. I never knew Wilkinsons had a home brew section! I'm working on a couple of prop blades, thread posted.

What a good job. I mean to find it, to take a pictures and finally, to clean it. looks like archaeology report. What is that on a fourth picture? Near butt part? It's white. Looks like leaf or an ancient spearhead.
It is, as you have correctly spotted, a leaf. It is WD stamped and found with the rest of the WW2 relics at a depth of 4 feet. Not worked out what it is for yet, but I suspect it was for photosynthesis.
Well, that's you not invited to come with me again tomorrow.......
Sling buckles, (NoBuckl)
Attachment 625657
Steve,Not sure if you are aware,The NoBuckl sling ends are from the American Kerr sling generally used on the Thompson machine gun.
Mossie
Thanks mossie. I was indeed aware of their use in Thompson slings. We have found thousands of them at this site.
Indeed, a couple of years back I found a 'seam' of them. The slings had obviously been set light to as I found clumps of hundreds of buckles all welded together. The 'seam' was about three feet wide by six feet broad by about a foot deep. I managed to get about 100 of them from the edge of the seam where the fire damage wasn't too bad. Such a shame they set fire to the pile !!!! If only we could have been there before they set light to them.....and the rest of the dump for that matter.
