Shame I can't try it for fit! Those aren't Bren drum winders m3, they are latches off something. The Bren 100rnd mag winder had a semi-circle at one end with two flat pieces. We've found lots at this site but these aren't them
You should know me better than that Steve, these are the Mk1 winders.

    Oh ballcocks!!

I didn't realise there were more than one version of the winder! You are spot on M3.........I'll nip back to the site and pick up the 5 or 6 I threw over my shoulder whilst shouting, 'another one of those bloody latches.'

I should never have doubted you m3, especially with regards Bren bits!

    I'll get my coat.

Heres a 2" mortar sight, not quite the same but maybe a different mark. The increments are the same. Photo credit to 'The Gunner Store'

I need to eat my words now, your photo shows the mk1, the others are Mk 2, I had them back to front.

I'm just adding some Sauce to my words before I eat them.

I have cleaned about half of the brass strips I recovered. Cleaning was via my rock tumbler as both the citric acid and vinegar brought the copper out and buggered the relics up. I had plenty though!!

Still need a little more cleaning as the sand has got jammed in the rivets. I am leaving them to dry to make it easier to knock out When you consider I brought home maybe 10% of what was in the 'seam', somebody set fire to one HELL of a lot of Vickers belts.

Also cleaned the LE oil bottles.

Four nice black Bakelite ones, along with a brown one which appears to be a little less common.

Looks like it was made by Parker Hale............or is it a different 'P H'?
