Oh ballcocks!!
I didn't realise there were more than one version of the winder! You are spot on M3.........I'll nip back to the site and pick up the 5 or 6 I threw over my shoulder whilst shouting, 'another one of those bloody latches.'
I should never have doubted you m3, especially with regards Bren bits!
I'll get my coat.
I have cleaned about half of the brass strips I recovered. Cleaning was via my rock tumbler as both the citric acid and vinegar brought the copper out and buggered the relics up. I had plenty though!!
Still need a little more cleaning as the sand has got jammed in the rivets. I am leaving them to dry to make it easier to knock out When you consider I brought home maybe 10% of what was in the 'seam', somebody set fire to one HELL of a lot of Vickers belts.
Also cleaned the LE oil bottles.
Four nice black Bakelite ones, along with a brown one which appears to be a little less common.
Looks like it was made by Parker Hale............or is it a different 'P H'?
