Certainly looks like a button BH, or possibly an adornment from a horse harness, but what era I'm not sure. The markings on it make me think it is probably a few hundred years old. I don't recognise it as anything from WW2 or WW1.

Any ideal what it might be?
Im thinking possibly Roman, it looks similar to a cape button that fastens across the lower neck, could even be Germanic from that period
Too me it looks like a button. Probably 18th-19th century

It may be teutonic. Almost looks like a viking shield. It def looks very old. I agree w/ Ade as being of the Roman era...Possibly Germania?
