    A lid of some kind and a heavy ring. Looks like the center of the ring has exploded. Not the most impressive finds, but after all it was more of a recon trip. Good finds would have been appreciated though

    Thanks a lot Paul. It was really interesting seeing this part of the sector just a few kilometers from the HUGE swamp the Red Army launched their attack through. The soldiers lived out there for i don't know how long. On small 150 diameter "islands", digging their bunkers and trenches, and then having isolated encounters with German forces. I sure as hell did not want to go on a Search&Destroy patrol out there. Exhausting terrain. Do you think the larger shell casing we found is 40mm PAK? It measures 250mm x 38mm.

    Looks more the size of a PAK 37 round !!

    Ok. I did not knew that also a PAK 37 existed. Thank you.

    I don't know the or the author But i think i will google it though. I read quite a lot actually.
