Last week, me and PaulusPaul went back to our familiar spot on the Eastern front.

After a long 8 hours drive, we arrived at our Hotel. And meet up with the landowners we contacted before to check out the area's
As we always do, we first read a lot and then start researching various maps and text's trying to pin point specific pieces of ground.
We where lucky this time, cause even the owner of the hotel showed us some nice place's, and even later in the week we got a nice Luftwaffe marked plate.
Shattered in several pieces, but hey... Its not every day you get this from someone

Not bad at all! But the cartridge is German Mauser, not Russian Mossin Nagant. If it is not a secret, was it somewhere in Poland? Near the Lithuanian border?

How in earth can you see there is a cartridge in the Mauser? And If I looked it up right on google; the gun is a Mosin

Wow - looks freezing - digging must have been brutal.
The parachute opener is the star for me, nice!
Always strange to me that there are drill purpose cartridges in a combat zone (five round clip in your pic.)
    The tank tread is phenomenal.

    Nice,

    Pit.

The training rounds and para-release were found on an old Fliegerhorst (airfield). as did the plate we got from the hotel owner.

You have posted a picture with a title "Some Russian cartridges" but the cartridges are not Russian but German. Also the training rounds are for German K98.

Nice finds I can see you are not in Russia as we still have way too much snow for digging
