    Unteroffizier..................................... ........... The rank (nco) (English ranks would be a sergeant) and guys name which we have not put on photo for respect as still looking for his relatives.
    6./panzer-fusilierregiment Großdeutschland (6th panzer fusilier regiment Gross Deutschland) The Großdeutschland Division was an elite Heer combat unit of the Wehrmacht. The Großdeutschland was considered to be the premier unit of the German Army and as such it was one of best-equipped unit of the German Armed Forces, receiving equipment before all other units.

    They where only in Kurland around 2 weeks so a very it was a very important find for us.

    Ww2hoby,
    No reason not to find Dutch or Dutch style helmets (I'm no expert on them) on the Eastern Front, as the Romanians used the same helmet.

    Great work! By the way, letters in a bottle were used also in Estonia. A friend of mine told me that similar bottles were found in the yard of a field hospital in Nõmme (Tallinn). So Germans did not used such things only in combat situation.

    I have without joking heard, that Kurland can be a quite dangerous place to dig if you are not welcome there.
