    Hi Inka,

    It looks like it's part of a light vehicle jack as used on Kubelwagen's and Schwimmwagen's etc.

    Not the best pic, but you get the idea.

    The fuze thing on the bottom was basically a shotgun cartridge and would have been perfectly safe. In the highly unlikely event it was still live, (which, given the nature of the fin it almost certainly wasn't), a quick soak in water and a bit of poking through the holes would have cleared it away completely.

    You just threw away a perfectly good relic!!

    Honestly.......if I lived closer to you I'd come round your house and give you a slap. Silly Inka !

    haha,,well,,I might try to magnet it out of the river then;p But I am sure I ll come across another one of those when I start moving towards where the Battle was And you can give me a ding With the shovel in latvia soon I Guess
