Great looking luger. It even looks like it is still loaded. Was it in a holster when you found it? I have seen some pictures of pistols on this forum that looked really great because they were in holsters protected when dug up. Of course the holsters looked really bad.
Hmm... not that one, it was found in pine forest, and its fully loaded.
I didnt know that luger was still produced in 41?
Your 41 marked Luger was made by Mauser.

Lugers were made up too 1942. Most were made by DWM. As i was told by some major luger collectors. Most of the lugers in the world are here in the USA. They were the prize of bring back firearms during WWII. Years ago I had talked to a man that was with a demo group that was assigned to blow up some train cars in what was left of a rail yard. They had to make sure what was in the rail cars before demoing them. One car was full of lugers in crates. of course they liberated some before blowing them up. he did have some NICE stuff he showed me years ago, but He wouldn't sell any of it. I haven't heard from him in about 3 years.
Correction DWM production switched to Mauser due to DWM switching most of it's production to munitions. Re: Gun digest 1957.
