    The MP41 is very interesting - it looks like the barrel was bulged, where it was cut - or is this a trick of the light?

    Nice find regardless - I have an interest in the MP41.

    It's the "Gefechtespack" or something like that. As far as i remember it was made from 1941 or '43. Last time we were out digging we found the frame for one of these

    Correct...of course. Is it the "A" frame that was called the "Gefechtespack" or something similar? At least i got the year right...sort of

    Hi Lars, the "A" - Frame / Combat Assault Pack (Gurtbandtragegerüst) was known as the Gefechtsgepäck für Infanterie Schützenkompanien.
