Good job Dave, I helped a member from France track down a dog tag about a year ago. I was able to find his son here in the US. Not sure where it went from there but it was fun doing the research.
Thanks
Burt

You're my hero!
I'd like to have the same success with the dog tags i sent to the US Embassy..Wait and see..
Milmuseum, what was the name of this french guy?
Was he me????
It was you, I just found the old thread
Murray Jones Leffers SR. Born 26 DEC 1917 , Died 23 July 1988, Ft Bliss Texas USA. Looks like he lost it while was serving there in WWII. He has a son, MURRAY JONES LEFFERS JR of 1727 E BLUEFIELD AVE, PHOENIX AZ 85022 USA. It would be interesting to see what stories his son has about him during the war.
Not sure what you talked to him about but I'd like to hear.
Thanks
Burt
I love stories like this!!!! So awesome!!!!!!!!!
Burt, happy new year first, and second,i sadly never reached the family of this man...
Since this case,i work with the US Embassy in Paris, for them to trace the Vets or their descendants, cause this is a full-time job....
Anyway ,thanks for your reply!
Great story and, one can only wonder but--one of my Grandfather's last names was: Foltz. Would be interesting to be related to those Foltz's.
