    The results of a short wander across the airfield this evening:

    Nice to find another couple of lead ordnance wire seals, after not finding a single one last year.
    The knife handle was laying on the ploughsoil beside one of the runways.

    Looks to be part of a bomb fin transit crate.

    Yet another bomb transit hoop latch, albeit in slightly better condition that the usual state I find them in.

    Nice finds for eyes only, one day I hope I'll have your knowledge on identifying finds because I think I would have walked past some of those. I live and constantly learn.

    Here are some closer views showing the size and markings on the seals, .50 cal round for scale.

    Very nice find Paul, lovely to see the manu stamp and date are still easily read and it still has it's lid with securing chain. If you're finding this sort of stuff on the surface the mind boggles on what's just below ground.

    The water bottle is really nice Paul and so are the bomb fuze safety pins. I spent years throwing 100s of them away and now i know what they are iv only found a handfull.
