What surprises me is that no one had gone back and dug them up sooner,
what with the cost and interest in German militaria over the past
40 years or so.........

AND NOW THE EVER DOUBTING MIND STARTS TO WORK.....Sorry the caps lock was on...It does seem quite remarkable to find such a haul as this in one hit, but who am i to say, surely the dog tags can be researched and possibly find a unit,
or a reason for them being grouped together?
LOOKING AT THE HELMETS ...They appear to be only a couple of LGE 68's/ and the rest smaller..62's 64's.. maybe youth? being towards the end of the War?..Abandoned? Hidden?..or something more sinister?..
I asked about buying a relic gorget - and the answer was yes, you can have one ......for 700 Euros!!!!!!!!!!!!
'nuff said!

700 euros is a little bit too much but these gorgets are in pretty good condition and such items are not cheap. I have seen recently some for sell for 200 euros and up (condition was much worse).
Awesome method of displaying the gorget and helmet, Glenn.
Less is more.
Thank you my friend.
