Hello chaps, I've just bought some bits and bobs that were purchased from a Normandy flea market. Can anyone help with ID? The rifle metalwork is a bit puzzling... the bayonet lug is on the side!!!!

    Cheers,
    JD

The first item looks like a finial off a garden fence.
The side mount bayonet lug is most probably 19th Century .... Martini Henry mk4 or something similar.

    Cheers Lee, thats the one!

Gary, it looks like some sort of rifle grenade projectile. It's got a steel tip, and one side of the tip looks like its whacked against something (you can just about make it out on the first pic) Looks to be first war stuff anyway.

    Hi J.D.
Im 99.9% sure that photo number 1 is infact part of a machine that takes up tarmac from the road and isnt anything to do with ww2 or any other war. Im sure iv got a few laying around on the farm i will try and remember tomorrow and take a photo for you. I might be wrong. Leave it with me.

    Hey Johnny

    Found your dial

2008/25/2 Toggle bench press, manually-operated, metal, maker unknown, 1880-1920, used by A L Lindsay & Co Pty Ltd, Leichhardt, New South Wales, Australia, 1930-1987 - Powerhouse Museum Collection

Very bottom of the description is a short paragraph about Sunvic. The picture shows a dial extremely similar to yours.

    Cheers

The Mlk1 converted Mk2 I had for a time had the socket bayonet, .. For some reason I thought the Pioneer sawback bayonet/sword was with the MK4 from about 1880 ..

    Cheers
