Imjin River battlefield

I went to the Imjin River battlegrounds for the first time where the 29th British
Commonweath and Chinese Communist Forces met and it was a nice, but
difficult trip. It was my first time to come across strictly British ordinance and relics
so some objects I recognize and some I don't. I'd appreciate in help in i.d.ing them.

Specially the last several objects. Also, anyone know why the different types of 9mm casings?

There probably from a Webley Mk IV .38 revolver

Hi, you have a Mills No.36 grenade, a Sten gun magazine, 2 inch mortar fins, and some 9mm & .38 rounds.

I was there only once and even then for a short time so I don't have
many other pictures, but here's a few more of my finds.

It was nice being able to make out the manufacturing date on the 2 inch
mortar tail. You can also see the pressure prongs for landmines. They are
the exact type of prong for a U.S. M2 or M3 landmine. Thankfully I didn't
come across any actual landmines. You can clearly make out the release pin
ring if they decided to make a tripwire for it.

Great finds though. Shame you didn't have more time, looks like a promising site!

Great posting and it brings back some memories. I was stationed in Korea in 1998 and was able to go on a military history staff ride up on Gloster Hill in the same area. Some of the discussions were pretty dull so I wandered around and within 15 minutes was able to collect several rifle bullets and casings. Would have loved to spend a little more time there.

Nice find. I am station at Camp Casey South Korea. I would love to go to some battle sites. But non of my KATUSA friends seem to not know where any is or they just dont want to take me.

Very nice finds sort of place all of us would like to visit, did you deac the mills grenade or leave it, would be a nice keeper.

That Mills 36 will be highly unstable, i would leave it alone unless you really know what you're doing even then i think most BD teams would destroy in situ especially if its not a populated area, the effects of the blast are really something to see on these, ive personally witnessed a piece of red hot shrapnel land a few feet away from us 200yds away from detonation
