Was at Kassel in November and in the company of some very serious buckle collectors. Although I do not hold any documentary evidence, now appears that 822 has been confirmed as the SS manufacturers code for R S & S.

Hi Paul. Imo it's a buckle used by soviets. Someone knows that it's a area of your interests, and make a story for that buckle. Even the buckle is not a dug up condition, and it looks to me like a old barn find.
Even that is a modern political idea " Fight for freedom " in german order of 13 is clearly showed... "Freedom in new Europe for all the european nations without bolschewiks"
