Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

I ws told there is a German Panzer in the middle of the forest, just a mile from where I'll be living. It should still be there I understood, and Ive seen pictures of the wreck with children climbing on top of it.
Its not burried or something, or hidden, just a wreck in the woods. But maybe its been towed away now, I dont know. But the other good news is the place was packed with Germans, so I hope there is still some bits left for me te dig up.

Please remember digging in France is very restricted and has to be done legally !!

Chris, I met Mme Morat in Trun when the Panzers where in this place. Now they are in the Saumur Museum. I have pictures of this old time. Except the Flak Panzer.
Yes digging must be legally done, and the Gendarmerie knows the place.
In this "village"there is some sellers of militaria...

I was very young and wanted to buy the Flak Panzer, Mme Morat said no, because one shell was in the gun.
