Michel this is at the Point du hoc.
But it was given to the location by the tank museum in Saumur by the French Colonel that was in charge of it back in 1994.

So, I ask to a friend leaving in Ste Mère, there is the legend of the tank in a hole, since 25 years. Not far from his farm, a piece of SDKFZ 251/17, at 5 or 6 meters in the ground.

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

In the 70s there were still panzers in the woods... And 40years later you are a millionare if you have one of them.. weird...

I dont understand why humans always have to destroy their own history. If we destroy everything and every trace of the hard times, we learned nothing.
