Article about: Hi all, Somehow I have only just discovered this forum! I am from Stratford UK but I've been living in Normandy for over six years, I go out researching and detecting on the Battlefields eve

    By the way Jan, it's a G10 ex-British Army Shovel, the best you can get and only a tenner!! (£10)

    Just one more thing, I live in Normandy, I speak French and I always ask permision from Farmers and land owners over here, it's not a free for all! And not everyone gives permission, you do have to do this sort of thing with pemission.

    Very very good. Its so important to keep up good connections with local landowners as with the authorities. Beeing an archaeologist myself I really appreciate that. Keep digging and above all documenting your finds

    Its threads like these that make me want to get a metal detector. Today I was walking with a freind to a few bunkers here talking about digging and the threads Ive seen on this forum.
